On arrival in Grand Cayman, we boarded a tender to get into port. We had a little time to kill before our shore trip was scheduled to start so we ambled into the port area shops for a bit.

Next stop was the Cayman Turtle farm. They raise these turtles from babies and periodically release those that have the best chance of survival into the wild. The tanks are uncovered, right at the edge of the beach, but the turtles don't get out and run away.
We stoped for about 15 minutes in Hell, which is a bit of a tourist trap but was worth checking out. The tourist trap was built around the interesting rock formations pictured below. There are several stories about why it's called Hell, take your pick or make up one of your own.
Finally, we boarded a boat and headed offshore to a place named Stingray City (see map above). Basically it's a sandbar about 1/2 hour boat ride out where they drop anchor and feed the stingrays. The stingrays appreciate this free lunch so much they will let you touch them (gently please) and will swim with you.

The guy in the picture on the right is a pro photographer. He took the picture of us on the right holding the stingray. As long as you support them when you hold them they don't mind. If you click on the picture of us with the ray, be warned, We uploaded the full resolution file (it's huge)

And now here are pictures taken with the disposable underwater camera. We hope you like them.
