The only thing we really stopped to do in Wisconsin was to visit Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers. For what is supposed to be a hallowed ground of football there's not a whole lot to it. We were there on a bleary Sunday afternoon, but unfortunately the Pack were on the road. We don't have any pictures of Green Bay itself because there's really nothing there to take a picture of.

Cheeseheads (see above) are big foam hats shaped like wedges of cheese that you wear on your head at a Packers game. They have become very popular and now you can get such other accessories as cheese sombreros, cheese helmets, and even cheese bow ties for those classy Packer weddings!

Lambeau Field Renovation

Already one of the most recognizable and envied venues in all of sports, Lambeau Field is poised to fully assume unquestioned stature as the National Football League's crown jewel once its current redevelopment project is completed in September of 2003.

The structure will be transformed from a football stadium - used 10 days a year - into a Packers cultural center, a year-round fan and tourism destination. Featuring the only true retro-look in the entire league, the glorious tradition and history of the Packers will be carried forward in the "like-new" building with its heart - the original seating bowl - being saved. The same hallowed ground where many of the NFL's greatest moments have transpired will continue to exist, a canvas where current players can paint their own memories in future years.
