In Memphis itself, we went to the Civil Rights Museum, located at the motel where M.L.K was assassinated (left). We also went to the Gibson guitar factory, and Elvis' Graceland mansion (both below).

After we left Memphis, we headed Northeast for a stop in Nashville. We'd been there once already back in the summer (check out the Nashville page). Then we continued east toward the Great Smoky Mountains and the beginning of the North Ridge Parkway.
